After pulling out the toe of the second sock SIX times, I am finally done with my Purple, Pink, and Turquoise helix socks! The reason for pulling it out so many times was my attempt to move the pool of pale blue from the top of the toe to the bottom. I had to pull the toe of the first sock out twice to move the pool to the bottom of the toe, but sock #2 simply did NOT want to allow me to move it off the top, so I finally just gave up. I really like the finished product, even if the little pool does bug me, as they are my three favorite colors and they play so well together! 💟💜💙

I've done helix knitting with 3 yarns before, but this is the first time I've done it with only 2 yarns. I was worried that there would be a noticeable jog, but I watched a bunch of videos specifically about 2 yarn helix knitting, and they all said you don't have to do anything special, just don't tug the last stitch of the previous yarn too tightly when you switch skeins. When I first started, I hid the switch in the garter stitch stripes, but after the heel, I would have had to have cut one of the yarns to move the switch back into the garter stitch stripe. So, I decided to just give it a go at just trying it the way the videos said and I am AMAZED at how well it works! You can see in the picture of the stockinette section where the switch is, from the color change on the needle, but the color stripes match up perfectly with no jog in sight. I love it!

I started off using size 1 (2.25mm) needles with a 3x1 ribbing on the cuff. The ribbing fit, but I tried it on after a couple of inches of the leg, and could barely manage to pull the tube up over my heel. So I had to pull everything out and go up a needle size to 1.5 (2.5mm) needles. I also switched to 2x2 ribbing. I tried it on after the ribbing and a couple of inches of the leg were finished, and it fits nicely now.
